Hello and welcome to my new website!

2013 has already been a busy year, starting with a New Year's JTQ gig at the wonderful Sage venue in Gateshead. In mid January I had the pleasure of being asked to play with Eumir Deodato at Ronnie Scott's for a week. You may not know his name but if you google him you'll see just how many artists this Brazilian living in America has arranged and composed for (He co-wrote "Celebration" for Kool and The Gang for instance!) Apart from that his solo albums for the CTI label have become rare groove classics - Billy Cobham played on most of these so I had big shoes to fill! His biggest solo hit was a funky version of "Also Sprach Zarathrusta" (2001 theme).

It was a real joy working with Deodato and the UK band were all great guys to work with. Ronnie's has to be in my top 5 favourite venues to play in the world too.

At the end of January I rejoined the Colin Blunstone bus after our curtailed tour of Holland in November. I'm glad to say that Colin's voice was sounding better than ever after postponing several shows in the Netherlands and the UK due to laryngitis. We enjoyed some great shows including the Jazz Cafe and The Stables in Wavendon. The whole of this month long tour I was fitting in rehearsals for Jerry Dammers' Spatial AKA orchestra on any days off and also a session and video shoot for a new artist called Matt Shepherd at the wonderful Monkey Puzzle studios in Suffolk.

On the 24th February we did our first Jerry Dammers Spatial AKA gig of the year in Berlin at the incredible Haus der Kulteren der Welt concert hall - we were the finale of the "Inhuman Music" festival. After flying in, an extensive rehearsal and a quick dinner the gig itself clocked in at another 3 hours 10 minutes (with no breaks!) A great but exhausting gig; amazing organisation in Germany and our end (Thanks particularly to Jo Wiser and Andrew Sloan)
