Hello and a belated Happy New Year,
Sorry I haven't done a blog for a few months. Lots has been going on so I haven't had a chance. Highlights of October were going to Cork Jazz Festival with JTQ for the third year in a row and I also did some more sessions for Audio Network writers Adam Drake & Tom Jenkins. 5 of their compositions that I played drums on have made it into Audio Network's Top 10 most downloaded tracks. JTQ also played Bratislava Jazz Festival, including a live broadcast on national TV, Rhino Jazz in St. Etienne and a jazz festival in Luxembourg.
In November JTQ appeared at Ronnie's for a 2 show one night stand and then we recorded a "Funk" library album also for the Audio Network group.
December was another busy one for JTQ with a 9 date tour of Italy including a live TV slot on the popular satirical show "Gazebo" (RAI 3). We also played live for BBC London's Robert Elms to promote a few gigs. As this show is live and there is very little in the way of broadcast equipment in his studio I decided to only use my son's Sponge Bob Squarepants 12" bass drum and a small snare!
We started the New Year at Pizza Express in Soho followed by an appearance at the Soul Train night at the Bussey building in Peckham. It appears that the youth are rediscovering Soul music as there were 1500 young people getting down to the DJ's and our set that night!
Finaly JTQ have just come back from playing at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland which brings us up to date!
